Can you "catch something" by kissing? Yes you can -- anything from just a cold to a pretty serious sexually transmitted disease. Also, since the AIDS virus has been found in the saliva of people with AIDS, it could be transmitted by kissing someone who has the disease, especially if you have any cuts in your mouth.

There's no such thing as 100% safety. But if someone has a cold or the flu, wait until it's over. If you see he's got sores on his mouth or lips, stay away! Also, if you have cuts in your mouth, or he does this increses your chance of passing on infection.

I don't want to make you paranoid, but just to tell you there's no such thing as "safe kissing" so keep that in mind.
